yes, this makes me very happy …

Who could’ve ever imagined that this team could make it this far?  Both Utley and Victorino have been astoundingly good with both their bats and our gloves in this series, and the pitching bookends of Hamels, Madson and Lidge have been more than solid.  However, there are countless other names that deserve credit for our victories so far, and those still to come — twenty-five names, in fact, plus a formidable coaching staff that’s helped shape that roster into a World Series-caliber team.  What continues to impress me is the selfless camaraderie demonstrated by these players, who consistently shift the focus away from their own performance, and instead, highlight their teammates’ accomplishments.  It’s an incredibly exciting squad, full of  everyday heroes, eccentric personalities and wise veterans.  While nobody could ever compete with the 1993 Phillies, idols of my youth, you can sense a similar feeling when they’re out on the field — an addictive electricity.  How addictive?  Even Jennifer’s become a convert, savoring the marvelous dyspepsia and life-changing joy that comes with attaching your hopes to a Philadelphia baseball team.

Still, as wonderful as this has been, one craves more … four more wins, to be specific.  Two more than this storied team is all it will take.
